Staying alive! My last post here was around 3.5 years ago. It mentions that I was having some PC issues. I did get that sorted a bit, though was still running pretty slow, but not long after that I got distracted with a new job and I haven't posted anything here since. I recently upgraded to a nice and fast new PC and have now decided to post the two chapters of this that I never got around to posting back then. They both follow on from the previous theme (the masquerade ball, which I'm sure everyone remembers) and were drawn around November 2016, by the looks of it. I'll post part two of the "lost chapters" some time between now and 2023, though I'm thinking maybe closer to next week.John Davidsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10833181866843230675noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1688985364970182129.post-47455857483795508422017-01-09T15:42:00.002+00:002017-01-09T15:42:43.148+00:00Masquerade Ball - REQUEST

I received my first call from "Microsoft" recently telling me about a virus I had. I immediately thought that such a call could be perfect in the format of Alex Norris' Dorris McComics as well as a good life lesson to anyone reading. So I hope Alex doesn't mind my <strike>rip-off</strike> homage to his character and style. When David made a request for me to draw a good idea, I decided to go one step further and also draw a bad idea. I then went a partial step forward from there and turned it into a tribute to Animaniacs while also continuing Davids skeletal theme from his last couple of requests.John Davidsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10833181866843230675noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1688985364970182129.post-12759038017216847032016-12-12T16:19:00.000+00:002016-12-12T16:19:09.495+00:00Bangers 'n' Monster Mash

I haven't seen Field of Dreams so I'm not entirely sure why Kevin Costner wanted to build a baseball field to attract a bunch of ghosts. I'm also sure that the quote may be a victim of the Mandela Effect, but I thought that it could have gone a drastically different route if he'd interpreted the message differently.

My original idea for this involved some kind of building that nobody would ever want to visit but then I decided to go more literal and not to alienate anyone that may actually want to visit whatever type of building I came up with.John Davidsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10833181866843230675noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1688985364970182129.post-64235848261221711722016-12-07T20:34:00.001+00:002016-12-07T20:34:09.011+00:00Skeleton Inside My Head - REQUEST

From hearing the term overscan as in to scan a barcode more than intended I figured that sounds like a good name for an action movie. So here's the poster!

I've also since discovered that it's also a term to describe the way that TVs (particularly older CRTs) will crop the edges of a video and anyone who's ever worked with video files to any decent degree knows that this is something that needs to be considered when including vital info or details on the screen.John Davidsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10833181866843230675noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1688985364970182129.post-32298688445171208782016-12-03T04:10:00.001+00:002016-12-03T04:10:30.450+00:00Admiral Ackbar's Afterlife

Another request from someone called David. Either the same few people keep making requests, these names are very common or I'm just not very good at making up names for pretend requesteees. (It's the first one.) David wanted me to draw a skeleton's day job, assuming his night job is to run around being scary, he suggested that the skeleton may work in a shop but I decided I'd much rather see him as a dog walker.John Davidsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10833181866843230675noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1688985364970182129.post-90739334517241121112016-11-18T20:34:00.000+00:002016-11-18T20:34:02.687+00:00The Joker's Dilema
