TRAIN DOODLE #014: Cowboy Bebop

The first Cowboy Bebop thing I saw was the movie, which takes part fairly close to the end of the series. Once I seen the whole series I was able to enjoy the movie even more than I had originally. One scene that always stood out to me was the scene on the train. Pretty cool stuff. Thing is it's a special train that hangs from the top, a bit like a ski lift, but I didn't let that stop me from including it. After all, when the train pulled up to a station it still looks like a regular train on rails as people get on at the platform.

TRAIN DOODLES #011: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Remember when Abraham Lincoln fought a bunch of vampires on top of a train with an axe-shotgun thing?

Also, what y'all thinking of the slight upgraded look? Changed banners and profile pics on the blog and social media sites. Trying to just update it a bit and try and have the branding show off the spirit of the doodles a bit more.

TRAIN DOODLES #004: Toy Story 3

Scale's a little off on this one and some of the scan ended up a bit blurry but hopefully it still works okay. This one is the first request from Dave. Thanks for the reminder that this scene existed.

#100 (Part 3) The Back to the Future Tapestry

As we reach our exciting conclusion you may all be wondering just how big this thing is in real life. You may have seen my previous post with a photo of it spread out through my living room, all the way along my hall and out the door, well it still wasn't all fully unravelled. After taking that photo it took my around 5 hours to scan the whole thing then I'd hate to even figure out how long to piece it all together to then only split it up again to post here. The till roll is a standard 8mm in height, or 3.15 inches if that's your preference. I didn't even use half of the full roll for the tapestry, probably not even a quarter but it's still a pretty impressive length. Sitting at 13 meters long, or 42.88 feet or 14.29 yards. That's half the width of a hockey rink or a little under 44% the length of a blue whale or about 68.6 standard pencils long. While not as long as the Bayeux Tapestry (last time I mention it, I promise) if you scaled the height up to match it, my Back to the Future version would be longer.

So now that all your questions have been answered you're free to enjoy the last part of the story. Of course I will be back to present the whole thing in a slightly different digestible format.

GUEST POST A Modern Doodle

Been a while since we had a guest post so here's one of a two parter from "Danny" that he likes to call, "A Modern Doodle." Just look at the composition of the juxtaposition of the hairy line and the circley squiggle. Combine this with the contemporary minimalist choice of colour and we have a piece that really makes you think. Stay tuned for another contrasting doodle by "Danny" at the end of the week.
